Grandpa Harker's Funeral

The middle of January brought some bitter sweet news. Davids grandpa passed after a debilitating battle with cancer. He had been declining for a while so it was good for him to go but a great loss for us. When I first met Arthur (Bud) Harker, I was to say it bluntly... scared. But I quickly learned he was a great story teller who loved his family and very generous. He was a great handy man and a wonderful wood worker. He had a shed behind the house which no matter what the weather he would go out and make a number of toys for the many grand kids which make up his posterity. When we first went to Shelly Idaho. I fell in love with the cutest foldable table, which he immediately got down for me and gave me no questions asked. We went out with a truck load of wood after David and I got married which served as many projects and toys for his last years. We are sad to see him go but are grateful for his legacy. Daxdyn got to see his Great Grandma for the first time. She is bed ridden and despite a lot of pain she wanted to get a love off of this cute baby and he performed great.

Funerals are a sad excuse for family reunions but we sure enjoy our time together.

Davids family Melanie, Ethan, Kirsten, Teegan, Marilyn.

There were so many kids in attendance it was crazy.

As you can see by the toy train he was very talented. He also served our country and we are grateful for his service.

The men receiving instructions.

What a cute great grand son.

The amazing thing about this place is that it is a huge Harker plot. I took pictures of all the headstones so I could have record of all the family names.

Danee found the right spot to be right on Grammy's lap. Obviously it was a very cold day but the sun at least came out for the burial service.

My red nose boy.
