Random December pics

Oh Christmas Tree... We needed a Christmas picture of the fame for the Christmas card since the only family picture we have is from the baby blessing. So the first Sunday of the month the kids were dressed in red so we got ready and took pictures. My good camera is out of commission so the point and shoot had to do. Oh well...

This is the Christmas card winner.

Thanksgiving 2010

We had a weird Thanksgiving this year. It was supposed to be our year with Davids family but Davids mom left and went to Idaho for the holiday and his sisters decided to do their own thing so we were on our own. I had to work so we couldn't go anywhere. My Mom and Dad had planned to go to Colorado to be with my brother but they cancelled their trip last minute. So, they met me at the hospital and we had hospital food for Thanksgiving.
Poor Dax and David had holds for the holiday but Dax was a happy boy anyway.

My son has found his thumb and despite everything I have tried he will not leave it alone. Does anyone have any suggestions?

My favorite part about Thanksgiving is the left over turkey sandwiches. So, in order to bring the holiday home a little bit. I cooked my first turkey and my mom and dad came over for appetizers and turkey sandwiches and a movie. So despite not having much for family around it was actually nice to have a quite holiday at home. It's was also nice to learn I could make a decent turkey and gravy.

Dax out for the count.

The Birthday Girl is Three!!

Since the 31st was on Sunday this year we actually got to have a party for Danee. She went to church in her princess dress. I figured since it was actually Halloween and her birthday she could be princess for the day.
She loved her dress and thought she was so pretty.

I have done a pumpkin cake for Danee the last two years but this year Danyka wanted a Tinkerbell cake. I attempted to make one. It's not one of my better creations but she liked it and that's what counts right?

It was mostly flowers. I completely forgot how to make the roses so I was glad they turned out as well as they did.

I know we went a little overboard with Danee's birthday this year but she is just sooooo much fun!

Halloween 2010

As we live in happy valley Utah, Halloween was celebrated on Saturday. It was the coldest wettest day of the season. So, we were drenched by the time we got to take pictures. Thank heavens my mother-in-laws ward had a trunk-er-treat so we didn't have to be out in it long.

Danyka absolutely loves Scooby Doo so we last minute threw together the Scooby Doo gang for costumes. Danee was Daphne Blake. She thought her red hair was "beauful."
I couldn't find a Scooby doll any where so I called my sis-in-law and she found one. It was Danee's favorite thing of the night.

Presenting; David as Fred Jones, Nyree as Velma Dinkley, Daxdyn as Shaggy Rodgers, Scooby as himself, and Danyka as Daphne Blake.

Danyka liked our costumes so much she no longer called us mom or dad. She immediately called us by our character names for the rest of the night. She sometimes still calls us by our characters. I think Dax may have a hard time knowing what his real name is.

It was hard to get Danyka to let go of Scooby long enough to get a picture with Daxdyn holding him.

After the trunk-er-treat we went to my moms for some food and to celebrate Uncle Randy's Birthday two days late.

Randy is the scary clown.

The fam loving on Daxee Boy.

Despite the cold and the wet it was a successful Halloween.

Picking Pumpkins

We have made a tradition to go to the pumpkin patch each year and get our pumpkins for carving. We haven't had much time off together so David met us before he went to work after class one morning. This year it was really fun. They had a small little petting zoo with a wallaby and baby goats and camels. There were hay bails, a small maze for kids to run around in and a corn kernel box to roll in. A big tractor Danee thought was pretty cool.

Danee liked the big bails but she was a little scared to jump down.

We loved the pumpkin patch!

Winder Farms

We are customers of Winder Farms and they had a photo contest. Dress in your Halloween costume and take a picture with Winder Farms chocolate milk. This is the picture I sent in. It wasn't even one of the finalists but I still thought it was cute.
What do you think?

These are some of the runner ups. Dax was a little bland in his Halloween costume so I dressed him in his pumpkin jammas to match.

It was hard to get him to sit and smile and take a picture by myself, but he is the sweetest boy.

I liked the pumpkin hat but it covered his cute hair.
