The night without power

On September 15th there was a big rainstorm in Spanish Fork. The streets were flooded and our power went out.It was starting to get dark so Danee and I gathered the flashlights and the candles. Danyka had fun with the flashlights. My crazy goofy girl. After a while the power came back on and we had a quick dinner and its a good thing we did because the power went out again for quite a while, about another hour and a half.
We got out the puzzles and played together by candle light. Danyka really wanted to watch a movie so we got all packed up to go to Gramma's house and just as we were about the leave the power came back on. Danyka had fun blowing out the candles. We enjoyed our night without power and I was sure glad we were semi-prepared.

Keith Urban 9/9/9

David took me to the David Archuleta concert for my birthday, so I took him the the Keith Urban concert for his birthday. He wanted to see Nickelback and so did I, but I was too scared of the USANA amphitheater to go so we went to Keith and I'm so glad we did. It was hands down the best concert I have ever been to, especially at the ESA. He didn't just sing songs from his current album. He sang hit after hit. He didn't really even take a break. He had each of the guys in his band introduce themselves by singing a clip of a song. It was so cool. They are obviously very talented guys and had the crowd screaming. After they were done performing they stayed out for a bit and signed autographs for people on the floor before disappearing. He seems to really appreciate his fans. We had so much fun! When we first got there the Radio stations were there blaring music. We stopped outside of KSOP which was throwing stress balls to the crowd David caught one and so did I. We won a KSOP shirt.

They had huge posters everywhere with Keith on them.

Little Big Town was the opening act. I don't know them very well so I wasn't able to sing a long which I like to do. I couldn't believe how long it took people get there seats. When the opening act started the arena was only about half full.

Me cheesing it with and excited grin as Keith Urban walked out on stage.

As you can see there was this awesome screen which moved and had an awesome picture. I felt like I had a front row seat the whole time.

We really did have good seats and Keith was out in the crowd the whole night. I think I stood for all but about 4 songs. He had the crowd on their feet the whole time.

David enjoying the concert.

Like I said Keith was in the crowd the whole night. (Notice the awesome mullet in front of me) They put up the pedestal at the very back of the Arena. Keith ran back and stayed on the pedestal right in front of us for 3 songs.

I felt like he was singing to me. He dedicated this song to his wife.

He had the crowd eating out of his hands.

A little later on Keith came running through the crowd again. This pic is of him playing while fighting the crowd.

Keith came up on our side and was about 20 feet away from us. I couldn't believe he was right there.

He held out his mic a lot and had the whole crowd singing the songs with him. The in house choir was incredible. The sound just rocked you.

David was taking the pictures because he was taller than the crowd. These pictures make me wish I could take a nicer camera into the ESA. :(

Nearing the end of the night the crowed was still on their feet.

This is David and I outside the tour bus. Keith's head is cut off. That's what we get for asking and elderly gentleman to take our picture.

Me on the backside of the tour bus,

David and I on our high after the concert!!

The Temple was beautiful.

Just a little taste. Sorry it is so sort, but you can tell how cool the screen was.

The Laneys

Davids family has some people they used to live by who have been friends for a very long time. They live just outside Payson and have a lot of land. There house had it's 100 year-old birthday so they had a party to celebrate. David went with Danee since I had to work. He took lots of pictures so I'll just give you a taste. The house is basically a museum. They have lots of old pieces, artwork, books and pictures. I'm glad I wasn't there because I would have had a heart attack if I saw Danee touch anything. He used to be an art teacher and has some really neat stuff he has done with and for his kids.Outside they have just about everything from a fire pit to horses to old farm house living quarters. There is an old house which they have worked on and made it to look like it did a hundred years ago. I love old houses and old artifacts so I thought this was pretty cool. The Tackle Room

I think the old stove is awesome. They have fixed up each room with hand made quilts and antique furniture.

Danyka had fun running around and especially seeing the horses. I hope maybe we can go back so I can see some of the excitement. David and Danyka sure had a good time.

AAAAAAAHHHH The BIGGEST Charlotte EVER.

I thought I'd try and clear up my garden today. My garden this year has been a bit of a joke. I planted too much and it has had some extra fertilization from the chickens and become very overgrown. I have had more peas and cucumbers than I could imagine. My carrots are just about mature and I'm starting to get my peppers. I have several green pumpkins and corn I don't know when to pick. Danyka was outside with me while I was trimming the pumpkin plants back.
The mess I cut back. So I now know why pumpkins and spiders go together for Halloween because as I was inspecting my newly growing pumpkins this varmint caught my attention, just in time, before I put my unprotected hand right through its home.

It's hiding spot.Needless to say I screamed so loud I'm surprised all the neighbors didn't come running to see what was the matter. After I took the picture the venomous monster vanished. I couldn't see it anymore, so I was officially done clearing out my garden. I didn't want to accidentally run into it again. Bleah!!

Happy 28 David D.

David had his 28th Birthday on the 21st. We went out to lunch for his birthday at Los Hermonos.
Here is my Birthday Boy. He had to go to work after so we didn't get to spend much time with him. Danyka loves ice at any time but she became a quick fan of the pebbled ice at Los.

David absolutely loves peanut butter treats so I tried a new recipe for his birthday. I made chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. Danyka enjoyed blowing out the candles.

Happy Birthday. We love you.
