Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!! We didn't make a very big deal of Valentines day this year. My mom always tried to make Valentines Day special for us, for which I was very grateful. So, I plan to do something special for Danee each year.

Danee really liked her talking card and carried it everywhere with her.

Worst momment of my life.

This is my happy boy. I took Danyka and Daxdyn to get their pictures together and when we came home I took a few of my own. Danyka has this doll that is as big as Daxdyn and I wanted to get a picture of the two baby dolls.

Afterward we went upstairs where we had just cleaned and vacuumed and I turned on a movie for Danyka and I put Daxdyn on the floor to crawl around. I was sitting on the couch and looked down at Daxdyn right by my feet and I realized he wasn't breathing. I immediately went to retrieve whatever object it was and found it was flat and sharpe and despite all my trying I couldn't remove it. He continued to choke. I flipped him over and gave him back blows then tried to retrieve the object again. I was still unsuccessful. I gave him more back blows with no success. I then pulled on his arm and gave all I had. He coughed. I went back for the object and it had moved enough for me to get my finger behind it and I pulled. He was coughing and bleeding and crying but I was so grateful for that cry. He was still having a tough time breathing so I grabbed him and got a bulb suction and suctioned his airway as best I could. Then I was worried about swelling and I tried to get him to suck on some cold water which he didn't like. The whole time this is going on Danyka is watching and asking "Is he gonna die? Is Daxee gonna die?" In my brain I'm thinking "Yes Yes he is if I don't get this thing out!!" It was awful. Once I got him stable and the bleeding slowed and I thought he was going to be okay, all I could do was cry. I cried and cried and cried. I stayed up with him all night so make sure he was breathing. It was a horrible night and it took him some time to get fully healed.

He choked on a square plastic tab which came off a child lock DVD case. It took me a while to realize what the stupid piece of plastic was. I still have no idea where he got it from because it wasn't on the floor when I laid him down. He is still quite the hoover and I have to watch him all the time. Danyka has become very aware and alerts me every time she sees him put anything in his mouth.

Here is the stupid tab after I quickly rinsed it off.

This is where I threw the bloody tab after I pulled it out and ran to get the suction.

It was a horrible moment to think I was going to lose my son, but I am so grateful it ended up okay. I am so happy my little guy is still around. I don't know what I would have done. I am glad David handled the whole situation well. I am grateful for some fast thinking and that I was paying attention to him and was able to act quickly.

A small break

Going to Idaho for the funeral allowed us to have a stop in Elba, It was nice to have a little break. I know some people don't like the tub shot but I couldn't resist.

Bubbles!!

Chilling watching TV.

Grandpa Harker's Funeral

The middle of January brought some bitter sweet news. Davids grandpa passed after a debilitating battle with cancer. He had been declining for a while so it was good for him to go but a great loss for us. When I first met Arthur (Bud) Harker, I was to say it bluntly... scared. But I quickly learned he was a great story teller who loved his family and very generous. He was a great handy man and a wonderful wood worker. He had a shed behind the house which no matter what the weather he would go out and make a number of toys for the many grand kids which make up his posterity. When we first went to Shelly Idaho. I fell in love with the cutest foldable table, which he immediately got down for me and gave me no questions asked. We went out with a truck load of wood after David and I got married which served as many projects and toys for his last years. We are sad to see him go but are grateful for his legacy. Daxdyn got to see his Great Grandma for the first time. She is bed ridden and despite a lot of pain she wanted to get a love off of this cute baby and he performed great.

Funerals are a sad excuse for family reunions but we sure enjoy our time together.

Davids family Melanie, Ethan, Kirsten, Teegan, Marilyn.

There were so many kids in attendance it was crazy.

As you can see by the toy train he was very talented. He also served our country and we are grateful for his service.

The men receiving instructions.

What a cute great grand son.

The amazing thing about this place is that it is a huge Harker plot. I took pictures of all the headstones so I could have record of all the family names.

Danee found the right spot to be right on Grammy's lap. Obviously it was a very cold day but the sun at least came out for the burial service.

My red nose boy.

January Pics

These are just random pics of my kids. With Daxdyn growing so fast I keep trying to catch little moments and I try not to exclude my little girl. So I find I have a bunch of pictures and most of them are stupid but I tried to pick the best ones.
My snow queen.
Danyka was playing with some ribbons one afternoon and decided to play with Daxy. He laughed and played and tried to catch the ribbons. They really are quite cute with each other.

Tinker bell is ready for bed.

Playing with baby brother.

Danee has taken quite a liking to the little toys Daxdyn got for Christmas and she thinks they are hers. I have tried to explain the obvious but she compromises by playing with Daxy.
Mornings are so much fun with Daxdyn. He is so happy and playful and always talking. I've been trying to get the curly tongue in action.

I love his crazy hair and I didn't have the heart to cut it.
Little buddies.

I'm a princess!
This is Daxdyn with his cousin Dylan. They are one month a part but technically two because Dyl was about a month early.
