Newport Beach

Tuesday the rest of the family wasn't doing much and it was actually a nice day so we went to the pool. Danee had a blast jumping in with dad then jumping out to get a chip from mom then jumping back in with dad.

For his birthday my dad wanted to try the Crab Cooker. David doesn't eat anything that once called water it's home so he was out of luck as the restaurant didn't offer anything land dwelling. So, David had to eat later. This lovely specimen hung over our heads for dinner.

Monday March 16th was my Dads birthday so we had to find a pie because that is what my Dad likes in place of a cake for his birthday. I think he had a pretty good day.

Newport Beach

Daddy and Danee, aren't they so cute?!

This is my nephew Kazdin. He kept getting as close to the water as he could then running away. He eventually did get caught by one of the waves.

My sister Tausha and her son Kosner. Kosner loves to take pictures with my sisters camera.

My sister and her family.

I got some good pictures of the sunset as it changed.

There were also a bunch of dolphins that came to play in the waves. As the waves came up you could see the outline of their bodies in the water. The were so cool. The ocean is amazing!

You can see the Seagules in the background. Danee was mesmerised.

I think this is my favorite picture of the night.

Danyka loved watching the waves and the birds.

We decided to take advantage of the sunset and have a Kodak moment.

These are my sister Tausha's kids Kinzie, Kosner, Kazdin, and Kooper.

Danee loved the beach and wanted to run straight into the waves.

The sunset was beautiful.

It was chilly but Danee liked the wind despite the cold rosie and runny nose.

She kept switching who she wanted to walk with and had fun swinging with mom and Grampa

We left for Newport Beach late Saturday night and drove all night. David and I switched off driving and got there Sunday morning and met my parents and my sister Tausha with her family who were already there. Sunday evening we walked down to the beach from the hotel and Danee having been cooped up in the car and hotel had a bunch of energy to burn off and walk down most of the way herself.

Way behind

I know, I'm way behind so I'm trying to get caught back up. I've been a little busy with school and March has turned out to be a very busy month for us.

Danee absolutely loves Wheat Thins and the other day she grabbed the box and carried it around all night.

People ask me how Danee and Tux get a long. We had Tux for about 1 1/2 years before Danee was born. He was the king of the Castle so he was very much dethroned when Danyka was born. Last summer he was neutered and since has put on a bunch of weight but he actually enjoys getting mauled by Danee. He lays down in front of her and she loves to give him hugs.

I just love this one.

This is how Danyka helps mom study. It's no wonder I do all my studying during nap times.

Still helping mom.

With the first of March the Nichols fam decided it had been too long since the girls had gotten together so we had a lunch just for fun at my mother-in-law's. This is Davids' Aunt Debbie and cousin Mandy.

Danee came and spent most of the time with Aunt Kirsten who is getting married this week. She has always been drawn to Kirsten and sometimes when Danee smiles just right I think they look so much alike.

All Danee wanted for lunch was everybody's cake so she walked around the table trying to steal the bits left by the cousins.

Before the party I tried to curl Danee's hair. It would have worked if they hadn't all fallen out in the night. I think she looks cute with the curlers. I certainly spent my fair share of time in curlers growing up.

My goofy girl.

So tired. This is another one of those looks I just love.

Danee visiting Gramma Nobles house.

This was the Sunday after Valentines Day and I though she looked so cute. So we went into the backyard so I could take some pictures. She wanted to play in the snow instead so this is what I got.

Feet in the snow and happy as a clam.

Nyree's night out.

I don't get a night out very often but my mom was busy so she took my baby and let me take her ticket to go see my cousin perform with the BYU Folk Dance Team. The team is going on tour to China this spring. The show is amazing.Aunt Deb, Uncle Gary, Tesha, Cade, Cree and his Fiance Amanda! Tesha is the one who is performing. She did such a good job. The last dance was a clogging. She and her brothers all grew up clogging so they are so good and I absolutely love to see her performing having a ball. I wish I had that much energy.
My Cousin Biff and his wife Rosie had a new little addition in January. She is named after my late Grandmother, Hazel. A name I have long loved. She is a little sweetie. This was my first time seeing her.
Isn't she cute? She was sleeping so I didn't get a love off of her, but her dad and mom owe me a visit and a concert, So hopefully I will be able to soon. If you haven't guessed I'm pretty close to my cousins. They are so great! Love you guys.

Valentines Day... well almost.

The Sunday before Valentines Day we got together with my family because my sisters family was moving and we wanted to get together before they left. My Mom always tried to make Valentines Day fun.
Danee loves her Daddy. We always take the token family shot. Usually in the same position in front of my moms front door. We look nice!Mom playing with Danee. Notice the look of sheer glee on Danee's face.
My cute little girl. I just can't get enough of her. My sweet niece and nephew down at the end of my moms appropriately decorated table.

My sisters and their boys respectively.

My cute Valentines! The sweetest Valentine of all. I'm so grateful I have my little girl.
